Measurements: approx. 130 cm measured along the short side (cast-off edge).
Materials:
DROPS BABYALPACA SILK from Garnstudio
200 g colour no 1306, powder
DROPS KID-SILK from Garnstudio
100 g colour no 01, off white
DROPS CIRCULAR NEEDLE SIZE 8 mm (80 cm) - or size needed to get 12 sts x 25 rows in garter st with 1 strand of each yarn = 10 x 10 cm.
DROPS CROCHET HOOK SIZE 4 mm - for crochet edge.

Tools
GARTER ST (back and forth on needle):
K all rows. 1 ridge = 2 rows K.
SHAWL
Worked back and forth on circular needle to make room for all the sts. Cast on 3 sts on circular needle size 8 mm with 1 strand BabyAlpaca Silk and 1 strand Kid-Silk and K 1 row. Then work in GARTER ST - see explanation above, as follows:
ROW 1: K 1, 1 loose YO, K all sts.
ROW 2: K all sts and the YO.
Then repeat 1st and 2nd row until there are approx. 156 sts on needle. Then cast off as follows to make an elastic edge: * Cast off 2 sts, make a YO and loosely cast off YO , repeat from -* the entire row. Fasten off.
CROCHET EDGE
Work a small edge along the two shortest sides. Use hook size 4 mm and 1 strand Kid-Silk, beg in one corner: Work * 1 dc, 3 ch, skip 1 cm , repeat from - along the entire side until 1 cm before tip at the bottom of shawl. Work 3 ch, skip to the bottom st. Work 1 dc, 3 ch and 1 dc in this st. Work 3 ch and skip 1 cm, repeat from -* up along the other short side. Finish with 3 ch and 1 dc in last st on edge.
