Tools
Garter st, back and forth on needle: K all rows.
Pattern: See diagram M.1 and M.2, diagram is seen from the RS.
Scarf: Worked in 2 pieces sewn tog afterwards.
Loosely cast on 75 sts on needle size 3.5 mm with Kid-Silk. K 1 rows from WS.
Work next row as follows: 5 edge sts in garter st, * K5, slip 1 st as if to K, K1, psso, slip 1 st as of to K, K2 tog, psso, K2 tog, K4 , repeat from -* a total of 4 times and finish with K1 and 5 edge sts in garter st = 59 sts. P 1 row from WS with 5 garter sts each side. Now continue in M.1 as follows: 5 garter sts, M.1A (= 12 sts) M.1B 2 times (= 24 sts), M.1 C (= 13 sts) and finish with 5 garter sts. Continue like this until M.1 is completed. Now work M.2 as follows: 5 garter sts, M.2A (= 5 sts) M.2B until 9 sts remain, M.2C (= 4 sts) and 5 garter sts. When piece measures approx 65 cm – adjust to after a full repeat – K 3 rows on all sts and now slip sts on a stitch holder.
Work 1 more piece like this and sew tog the 2 pieces with duplicate sts (seam = middle of scarf).
Wrist warmer: Loosely cast on 51 sts on needle size 3.5 mm with Kid-Silk. K 1 row from WS. Work next row as follows: 1 edge st, * K5, slip 1 st as if to K, K1 psso, slip 1 st as if to K, K2 tog, psso, K2 tog, K4 , repeat from -* a total of 3 times and finish with K1 and 1 edge st = 39 sts. P 1 row from WS with 1 garter st each side.
Continue in M.1 with 1 edge st each side until arrow at the left side of diagram. Cast off loosely with 2 threads. Sew tog inside 1 edge st.
