HAT – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE
The piece is worked in the round with circular needle, bottom up. Change to double pointed needles when necessary as you decrease.
HAT
Cast on 96-96-108 stitches with circular needle size 4 mm and DROPS Air – or work Italian cast-on.
Work rib in the round (knit 1, purl 1) for 21-22-23 cm (9-9-10 cm left to finished length). Remember to maintain the knitting tension.
Insert 6 markers in knitted stitches as follows: Count 14-14-16 stitches and insert 1 marker in the 15th-15th-17th stitch (1 knitted stitch), then insert the other markers with 15-15-17 stitches between each knitted marker-stitch.
Work the next round as follows: Continue the rib until there are 2 stitches left before the first marker-stitch, purl 2 together, * continue the rib until there are 2 stitches left before the next marker-stitch, purl 2 together , work from -* to end of round (6 decreased stitches). Decrease like this every 2nd round a total of 10-10-11 times, working knit above knit and purl above purl = 36-36-42 stitches. Then decrease in the same way every round 4-4-5 times = 12-12-12 stitches.
Cut the strand, thread it through the remaining stitches, tighten and fasten well. The hat measures approx. 30-31-33 cm from the cast-on edge. Fold up the bottom 7-7-8 cm. The hat measures approx. 23-24-25 cm with the fold-up.
SCARF – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE
The piece is worked back and forth.
SCARF
Cast on 43 stitches with needle size 4.5 mm and DROPS Air – make sure the cast-on edge is not tight.
Work the first row from the wrong side as follows:
2 stitches I-CORD – read explanation above, work rib (knit 1, purl 1) until there are 3 stitches left on the row, knit 1 and 2 stitches I-cord.
Continue from both the right and wrong side:
2 stitches I-cord, knit above knit and purl above purl until there are 2 stitches left, 2 stitches I-cord. Remember to maintain the knitting tension.
When the scarf measures 180 cm, cast off with knit at the same time as the first and last 2 stitches are knitted together.
