DECREASE TIP
DECREASE AFTER 3 STITCHES AS FOLLOWS:
Slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over stitch worked (= 1 stitch decreased).
DECREASE BEFORE 3 STITCHES AS FOLLOWS:
Work until 5 stitches remain on needle, knit 2 together (= 1 stitch decreased), work the rest of row as before.
I-CORD CAST-OFF
BEGINNING (= right side):
Cast on 2 new stitches on right needle from right side.
Slip the 2 new stitches from right needle to left needle so that working yarn is 2 stitches in on left needle (the working yarn tightens the piece when working to form a little tube).
ROW 1 (= right side):
Knit 1, knit the next 2 stitches twisted together. Slip the 2 stitches from right needle back on left needle. Do not turn piece.
Repeat 1st ROW until 2 stitches remain. Slip the 2 stitches from right needle back on left needle. Cast off.
TOP - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE
In this pattern needles of different length have been used, begin with fitting length for number of stitches and switch as needed.
Piece is worked in the round on circular needle, from the bottom and up to armholes. Divide the piece for front pieces and back piece and finish each part separately back and forth.
Finish by picking up stitches around the neck and armholes and cast off with I-cord.
BODY
Cast on 174-192-204-220-242-262-284 stitches on circular needle size 4 mm with colour Off White in DROPS Paris. Work rib (= knit 1/purl 1) for 3-3-3-3-4-4-4 cm.
Switch to circular needle size 5 mm and work 1 round in stocking stitch while AT THE SAME TIME decreasing 18-20-20-24-26-26-28 stitches evenly on first row = 156-172-184-196-216-236-256 stitches.
Work in stocking stitch. When piece measures 6 cm, begin stripes - see diagram A.1. Remember to follow the knitting tension! When piece measures 32-33-34-35-36-37-38 cm, divide for front pieces and back piece.
