EGG WARMER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF PIECE
Start at top of head and work down.
BEAK
Start with the beak so it is ready when you work the round where it is fastened to the head. Follow diagram A.1, working with colour crimson red and hook size 3.5 mm.
Leave a strand-end of 15 cm at the beginning and end of A.1 – these are used to fasten the beak to the head.
CHICK
Start with colour yellow and hook size 3.5 mm. Work 3 chain stitches and form them into a ring with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch. Work A.2 a total of 5 times on the round, A.3 shows how the rounds start and finish and is worked in addition.
The beak is fastened to the head on the round marked with an arrow; sew the start-strand to a stitch, skip 2 stitches and sew the end-strand to the next stitch. Fasten the strands to the inside before filling the chick with wadding on the round marked with a star. When the beak is fastened, embroider the eyes using flat stitch on each side of the beak, with colour black.
You can work a little down on the head as follows:
Use colour off white and hook size 3.5 mm. * Work 1 slip stitch around the chain-stitch ring on top of the head, work 6 chain stitches, * repeat from - 3 times, finish with 1 slip stitch around the chain-stitch ring. Cut and fasten the strands.
