CROCHET TENSION
16 treble crochets in width and 8 rows in height = 10 x 10 cm.
Hook size is only a guide. If you get too many stitches on 10 cm, change to a larger hook size. If you get too few stitches on 10 cm, change to a smaller hook size.

CHAIN STITCH
If you work outermost on the hook, the chain stitch will often be too tight; 1 chain stitch should be as long as 1 treble/double-treble crochet is wide.
SHAWL - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE
The piece is worked back and forth, top down.
SHAWL
Work 5 CHAIN STITCHES – read description above, with crochet hook size 4.5 mm and DROPS Merino Extra Fine or DROPS Cotton Merino. Form them into a ring with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch. Work pattern A.1, starting by the arrow and working back and forth as shown in the diagram. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION!
When diagram A.1 is finished in height, repeat the last 2 rows, continuing to increase as before – i.e., each time you work 2 rows in height, there is room for 2 more treble-crochet groups on each side of the middle of the piece (1 treble-crochet group consists of 3 treble crochets + 3 chain stitches). Work until the piece measures 28 cm down the middle – finishing after a row of treble-crochet groups. Cut and fasten the strand.
