CHAIN STITCH
If you work outermost on the hook the chain stitch will often be too tight; 1 chain stitch should be as long as 1 treble crochet is wide.
PATTERN
See diagrams A.1 to A.3. Choose diagram for your size (applies to A.1 and A.2).
CROCHET INFORMATION
At the beginning of each round of treble crochets, work 3 chain stitches which replace the first treble crochet; i.e. skip the first treble/double crochet from the previous round. The round finishes with 1 slip stitch in the 3rd chain stitch at the beginning of the round.
HAT – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE
The piece is worked in the round and top down.
HAT
Work 4 chain stitches – read CHAIN STITCH, with hook size 4 mm and Merino Extra Fine and form them into a ring with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch. Then work pattern A.1 – read CROCHET INFORMATION. When A.1 has been completed, continue with A.2 a total of 11-12 times in width. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! When A.2 has been completed in height there are 88-96 stitches on the round. Then repeat the last 2 rounds in the diagram until the piece measures 21-23 cm. Now turn the piece inside-out (so the turn-up will have the right side out when turned up). Work A.3 in the round, from the arrow. When the hat measures 33-35 cm from the top down the hat is finished. Cut and fasten the strand. The hat measures approx. 23-25 cm with approx. 10 cm turn-up.
